You do not need to feel unwell to benefit from Bowen Therapy. Regular Bowen Sessions can reduce stress and help to improve your general feeling of well-being.

In general there are no contra-indications for the Bowen Technique, however, there are some cases, where certain procedures need to be avoided. It is very important that you advise your therapist if you have any of the following:

 

- Extensive dental restoration work done.
- Are pregnant or may be pregnant.
- If you have had any breast or pectoral implants put in.

 

In these cases there are some procedures that we avoid using. However there are many other procedures that can be used, that would also provide great results.

5-10 days is recommended, 7 days is best. Although people often notice significant benefits after just one session, most conditions are improved in 3-5 sessions. Some chronic conditions or old injuries may require ongoing, long-term sessions.

 

At the Toowoomba Bowen Clinic we believe that "prevention is better than cure", so whenever possible clients are encouraged to have monthly maintenance sessions, this will help the body to function at its best and help prevent any further or new problems from developing.

No, Bowen therapy is a more precise and gentler form of body work than Massage, stimulating the body's self healing potential. It's effect on the structure and function of the human body can be much more profound than traditional massage.

For Bowen Therapy to be effective, you should allow a minimum period of five days before having any other type of body work. Immediately following a Bowen Therapy session, your body requires time for the healing phase to complete.
